Oh man, if Apple partners with Meta I'd say kiss every bit of their bragging about privacy goodbye.I know all the big tech firms have done some terrible things, but Meta takes the cake. I think they are both #1 on the list and also 4 out of the 5 biggest fines handed out by the EU for disinformation and more. They got a big slap in the US for one of the worst areas of all - allowing online bullying. They swore up and down they fixed that and then got found out for fixing just about nothing.
I'm also a skeptic on what seems like the new consensus that goes something like "AI has had no real impact, no momentum, but now that Apple's in the game they'll dominate and provide the greatest solution". Not convinced at all by that.

Well, they turned it down today for exactly what you mentioned. Privacy issues. Or maybe a marketing stunt that worked out.
