Thank you for a really great article again Yaro but the more I listen to the building views online about this topic, the more I feel that firstly, there is a lot of unnecessary panic from the 'general public' on this who cannot, or do not want to, see the bigger picture, or a bright new future for our world. And in some business camps there seems to me to be outright hostility for it. But is that possibly because THEY didn't think of it first for themselves and so won't be raking in more millions to add to their own coffers or be able to keep 'Jo Public' under 'their' control by having monopolies on it??

Whilst I have respect for Deepak Chopra, I am not sure how 'even' him commenting on the possible adverse effects of AI really has any impact on the future outcome. Other than being very wealthy, and possibly being able to invest in it, what does he have to do with AI? Robots are robots and humans are human. And why would robots want consciousness?? Many humans on this planet are rarely conscious it seems to me, and look at the damage some of them do! Once again, its another celebrity who espouses to do much for humanity and charity, and he probably does, however, the people that he newly sponsors or employ see nothing in absolutely bombarding you 24/7 with sales emails to buy their books and courses etc; if you so much as show interest or give your email to hear a video. All driven by his ethos and company to make more money I can only think. That to me feels robotic and very unconscious.

As for Nick Bostrum, after seeing and listening to him on one of Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk older Podcast's this last week, I would honestly be grateful if there was a 'superintelligence' robot to replace him. At least they might have some personality, smile, laugh or get jokes! :) I'm not surprised he wrote such a downer book. Clever man, but boy he needs to get out more!

I am old enough to remember all of the same old doubts, comments, fear and panic when the internet was birthed and started to rise up and look at where we are now? Look at the wealth of employment that has brought and continues to create. What would, could we do without it now?? Yes, there are elements of wrong about the internet but there is a hell of a lot right with it and I suspect that's what will happen with AI. In my very humble, nobody rich or famous, opinion.

Once again this negative rhetoric about AI, instead of seeing the good or celebrating something WE humans have actually done as being fantastic, is yet another campaign to instil fear and panic in to ill advised, every day good people, whom, if they were actively involved and allowed, or encouraged to have the autonomy to help develop this fantastic future that mankind can have with AI, then WE / THEY could collectively ensure that the power was not allowed to be in the hands of the few, just as everything currently is, and it's time for the every day conscious human being, to have a say.

Other than that I love your posts and thank you for the time taken to compose them.
